Surviving for over 36 years as a doorstop in a family home and nearly being dispatched to a car boot sale, the 26 inch, 300 year old Chinese recently sold for £650.00 at a Derby auction house. The delighted couple didn’t want to give too much away, except it was inherited from a great aunt Flo who was an antiques dealer in Cornwall. I’m sure too they were grimacing when they thought of all the football games played around it by their children in earlier days, but a happy story, showing what treasure is still to be found.
